Steve Murrell is the founding pastor of Victory Church Manila, Philippines, one church that meets in eighteen locations across Metro Manila. Every week, approximately 10,000 Victory Group leaders meet all over Metro Manila to empower and make disciples. Over the decades, more than 150 Victory churches have been established all over the Philippine Islands, and Filipino cross-cultural mission teams have established churches and campus ministries in twenty-two nations. Together with two long-time friends and ministry colleagues, he is also the cofounder and current president of Every Nation, a global family of churches with a vision to plant churches and campus ministries in every nation. Every Nation has planted churches in over eighty countries so far. In 2016, after thirty-eight years in vocational ministry, Steve went back to school, eventually earning a Doctor of Ministry degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. His dissertation was entitled: “Post-Founder Sustainability: Building Ministries that Outlive Their Founders.” That dissertation research was turned into a book titled "The Leadership Runway: A Strategy for Ministry Succession, Leadership Transition, and Post-Founder Sustainability." He also wrote or co-wrote other books, including WikiChurch, 100 Years from Now, and The Purple Book. Steve also serves as a preaching coach to Every Nation Seminary students and, as a professor, teaches Apostolic Leadership, Relational Discipleship, and Pastoral Theology. He and his wife, Deborah, have three adult sons, three daughters-in-law, and nine grandchildren. They split their time between Nashville, Manila, and Delta Airlines. Occasionally, but not often enough, Steve rides his Indian Chief Vintage on the backroads of Tennessee.
