Sunda Croonquist

As the funniest Mom in comedy, Sunda Croonquist is on the rise with her combination of culture, gift of gab and unapologetic parenting style. Of course, having a degree in Criminal Justice also helps her keep the kids in line. This comedian Mama and talk show host does it all! Praised by the NY Daily News as being “The only female comic that makes Jerry Lewis laugh,” Sunda Croonquist has risen through the ranks of standup comedy despite being “the antithesis of the Hollywood Housewife.”   Creator and host of her talk show: “James and Sunda’’ which airs weekly on JLTV (Jewish Life Television). When not on tour, Sunda’s provocative and mischievous comedic style can been seen on full display every Saturday night headlining at the World Famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood.   Featured on many of television’s top shows including: The Today Show, The View, Entertainment Tonight, Oprah’s “OWN”, Nick Moms, The Doctors and “Sweden’s Next Top Model,” Sunda has also guest starred on The Artie Lange Show and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend.” As an actress she has been on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, the feature The Cure for Boredom and played herself in the Equity Production “Funny Business,” a rock n’ roll musical at the Kennedy Center.   This “Jersey Girl” often returns to her hometown of Paterson where she is the Chairperson for “Laugh Off!” an event that promotes awareness for Gilda’s Club, a cancer support group created by the late Gilda Radner of SNL fame. She’s never abandoned her roots, devoting some of the year to the East coast and much of her time and energy to nurturing the next generation at her comedy school the LA School of Comedy.   Sunda recently authored Kosher Soul Food. She learned to combine recipes and ingredients from her multi-cultural experiences. Kosher Soul Food is a recipe guide for integrating two very different culinary worlds in a delicious and funny way.    When you’re born Swedish and Black, look like a Puerto Rican, given a Hindu name, with cousins from the panhandle of Florida and are sent Catholic schools for 16 years which resulted in converting to Judaism... Life is bound to be funny! If that wasn’t enough to secure her as comedy chameleon, she married an attorney with whom she has two daughters: Aviva and Tovah.
