Shamanic poet and spoken word artist Susa Silvermarie (previously Sue Silvermarie) is a widely published and anthologized writer known for original work that delights the senses while calling the spirit. She has an MSW degree and an MFA in Writing. Her rich work life has included jobs as a mail carrier, a preschool teacher, a gerontological social worker, a massage therapist, a Medium, a Certified Poetry Therapist, a human rights monitor, a storyteller and more. Wisconsin-born Silvermarie began a new life in Ajijic, Mexico in 2016, where she writes a poetry blog and articles for local publications, and runs a popular Write-to-a-Prompt circle. She enjoys volunteering in an art Program for Mexican children, and loves her life on the shore of Lake Chapala. She is grateful to be an artist at a time when we are evolving to become a world that works for everyone. Tidbits: She’s the wee mother of a towering, feminist man. She wrote her MFA thesis on gender fluidity in young adult fiction. In the days when it was required on forms, she listed her religion as Pagan Buddhist TwelveStepper. Now she might say she’s a Guadalupana, a devotee of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Yet since she understands herself as both local and quantum being, divinity for her is no longer apart from her own larger Self. In kindergarten, she constructed a taller-than- she-was rocket ship, with giant rectangular blocks, which to the five-year-old visionary, ended in a perfectly-pointed nose. She expects it to take off anytime and carry us to a world we have made where there are no national borders and no limits to compassion or imagination, and where all the world’s children are cherished. www.susasilvermarie.com
