Good Old Tunes grew out of my quest to find well-harmonized violin music that is simple enough for me as a beginning and advancing learner, but musical enough to satisfy my ear as a life-long choral singer, director, and arranger. I began by arranging two-part Christmas carols and organizing them into theme-based volumes, and it grew from there. By the time I took up the harp (at age 67) my arrangements were in demand and I was dedicated to helping adult music learners. So, Good Old Tunes now contains collections of Harp music, as well as Violin and Fiddle duets. I've also self-published books for learning readers, my Read-Aloud, Read-Along books of poems and stories. Somewhere in there, my alter-ego (a feisty church mouse named "Mrs. Middlejoy") began to show up in chapter books for middle school readers. And my work with English as a foreign language inspired me to write some stories that are simple enough for adults beginning to read English, who want something more than children's books. I truly hope my love of music, reading and learning comes through in all my published works.
