Sue is a registered teacher with more than 35 years’ experience in multi-cultural settings, as well as extensive experience in resilience training for young children and their families. For over a decade, she has been facilitating resilience programs in Primary Schools in New Zealand, with outstanding results. In 2018 she developed the “Being My Best Resilience Program,” which she facilitates in schools. Sue has worked successfully with hundreds of children, and schools are full of praise for her outcomes. A key part of her Program’s success, is supporting parents/caregivers and teachers in implementing resilience strategies into both the school and home environments. Because of the increased need to support children and families, Sue also trains teacher facilitators in the “Being My Best Resilience Program”. Parents have approached Sue numerous times to provide a program they can implement with their children at home. She has therefore developed the “Being My Best Resilience Workbook,” for parents/caregivers and their children. Sue has always been very passionate about working with children and their families, especially in supporting resilience, confidence, self-esteem, and resolving conflict in a peaceful manner. She feels strongly that teaching and empowering families to take responsibility for their own personal growth, and equipping them with resilience and coping strategies, is crucial to the positive development of the individual, family, community and the nation as a whole. Sue has very close bonds with her three adult children, Hayden, Nayer and Tupuna. She enjoys bush walks, being close to nature, swimming, biking, gardening, fishing, tennis, travelling, and being with family and friends. Her driving force in life is to be of service to humanity.
