Susan Peterson Gateley is a native upstate New Yorker, former teacher, and icthyoplankton taxonomist who single handed the wooden sloop "Ariel" around Lake Ontario in search of stories for boating and nature magazines for 17 years. In 1996 she acquired a different boat and partner and added Gateley to her name. Her articles about Lake Ontario have run in numerous local and national publications, and she has published five full length nonfiction books on sailing and ecology of the lake since 1995. She currently sails aboard a 32 foot Chris Craft sloop, "Titania" and on a 47 foot Tancook schooner "Sara B". Her latest book, published in 2009, Twinkle Toes and the Riddle of the Lake is a mostly true account of sailing with three cats in search of insight on Lake Ontario and its future. here is a link to a short synopsis of Twinkle Toes and the Riddle of the Lake http://www.silverwaters.com/Riddleshow/index.html for more updates check my Silver Waters Sailing page Log on Line under links. We hope to have our Lake Ontario Educational Video out sometime in 2016
