Here are some fun facts about the author: Her children answer to all of her characters’ names. Her grandchildren just give her a funny stare. She has written 18 novels, some of which she will never publish. She gives advice from her characters’ perspectives, to which her husband always points out is really advice from herself. She wrote her first book in 1984 and has sometimes gone years without writing. Other times she has written more than one book in just a few months. Even her dog will respond to character names... especially if treats are involved. Her characters come to her without notice, and they generally tell their own stories while she writes it all down. Her characters often feel more alive to her than her family and friends. That can sometimes be a problem. But they ARE alive… right? People tease that she confuses her real life with her fictional characters’ lives. There’s truth in the teasing. And that’s a teasing truth. She learns from her characters…. But how did they learn stuff? She’s an army veteran, military brat and also a military wife. She has a law degree but is not a practicing lawyer. She writes novels that usually include a military or legal theme. She’s lived in England and Germany and eight different American states. She usually falls asleep on long road trips and almost always falls asleep when watching movies. She’s worked in health care, law, and education. She also ran a day care. She has children and grandchildren and some of the pets that her kids left behind. She enjoys gardening, swimming, boating, skiing, running, dancing and making wine with her husband, and hanging with her children and grandchildren.
