Suzi has been performing since she was a child. She tributes many caring teachers for nurturing her talents and encouraging her to pursue her dreams. She began teaching herself soon after college and realized there was very little useful material, and much of what she found was inappropriate for her students, so she began creating her own lessons, worksheets, forms, rubrics, and more. She stayed alert and on the lookout for new activities to keep her students moving and growing in their love of the performing arts. Also an avid writer, she combined her many passions to complete her first theatre text book in 2000. Today, she has five theatre arts books that guide beginner teachers and support experienced ones. In 2010, she and her husband published a memoir based on his experiences as a leader in fen phen diet drug litigation, Battling Goliath, Inside a $22 billion Legal Scandal. Together they run New Hope Foundation, a non-profit outreach organization that helps break the cycle of poverty. They donate all profits from Battling Goliath to their foundation.
