T. Kuhn

关于作者

T.C. (Thomas) Kuhn is a retired archaeologist, craft artist, and teacher with fifty years experience working in Native American and other anthropological topics. His People of the Stone six part book series is a detailed study of prehistoric North America from the end of the Ice Age to the coming of the Spanish and is based on his own work in eastern N. America. Set in novel form, this series focuses on the major issues and topics surrounding the peopling of the New World and the growth and changes of its diverse, yet inter-related cultures over time and different environmental challenges. The author also served as a Marine Corps officer from 1969-72 before receiving an M.A. in Anthropology from Eastern New Mexico Univ. and an M.S. in Geography from Marshall University, where he also taught and worked as an archaeologist before relocating to South Carolina, where he currently resides. He has also taught English in high school for five years which put him back in touch with his roots in literature and inspired him to begin his writing career. For seventeen years from 1981-98 Kuhn was the owner and principal operator of Rattler Crafts, an internationally recognized and award winning business that created museum quality reproductions and functional replicas of prehistoric and early historic Native American material culture. During this time he was selected to do many major craft shows across the country and in 1993, designated as the Year of the American Craftsman, he was nominated and chosen to produce an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree. He continued to teach a variety of subjects in the field of anthropology through both classroom and demonstrational forums until 2006 when he began his writing career with the introduction of the People of the Stone series. Since completing that series he has gone on to write additional historical novels based on his travels as well as the first two books of a projected three part series on the rise and decline of the Maya culture, Place of the Misty Sky and Kingdoms of Stone. Currently writing as T.C. Kuhn he has begun a new series based on his interest in the Byzantine Empire and several trips to that part of the world. The Emperor's Man series are adventure/mystery novels based on a recurring character who serves as secret agent, diplomatic "fixer", and information gatherer for the Byzantine emperor, Constantine VII. Set in the year AD 950, the first trilogy, which includes The Byzantine Cipher, and The Blind Venetian, will be concluded soon with the third and final book in this exciting first trilogy with a view toward continuing the on-going characters, both historical and fictional in future adventures. As with all his books this series is based on thorough historical and geographical research with a generous infusion of detail to educate as well as entertain his readers about frequently under-appreciated topics--the author's number one objective in writing his stories.
