Tamara Leonard is a God-fearing, retired Member of Sint Maarten’s Parliament and an inspiring entrepreneur. She embraced the role of a children’s book author, a passion that emerged during her battle with cancer, as she found herself with extra time to explore her creativity and inspire young minds. Tamara’s journey began when she faced the challenge of battling breast cancer for the second time. Rather than viewing this struggle as a setback, she embraced it as an opportunity for growth and reinvention. Born and raised on the beautiful Dutch Caribbean island of St. Maarten, she moved to America in 2000, where she graduated from Miami Dade Community College before completing her education at DeVry University. In the face of adversity, Tamara is known for always searching for ways to transform her experiences into something meaningful. While exploring new avenues during her recovery, she discovered the idea of writing children’s books; a passion that flourished as she had the time to nurture her creativity. This revelation sparked a creative wave within her, leading to an outpouring of stories that reflect her desire to inspire and uplift others. Having faced her health challenges with resilience, Tamara views her writing not only as a personal journey but also as a means to instill hope and encouragement in society. She believes that every setback holds the potential for a powerful comeback, and her stories reflect the strategies she used while raising her now adult daughter. Tamara is committed to continuing her writing journey, driven by her faith in God, her belief in working smart, and the importance of positivity. Through her storytelling, she aims to share valuable lessons and foster a sense of community. Tamara Leonard is not just overcoming her own challenges; she is turning them into a beacon of motivation for others, proving that misfortune can indeed blossom into opportunity.
