Tanya Frolick Carter

A little about me: I love finding joy in life. I enjoy traveling and I've been to 49 of the 50 U.S. States, plus 8 or 9 countries. My new husband and I are planning a trip to reach that 50th. I have been teaching for almost 30 years: the first 18 in high school English and the rest is Speech and Communications in a fabulous community college that strives to educate and support our students and community, above all else. I have two beautiful daughters and more pets than any woman needs. I love them all and look forward to what the future brings. I also look forward to writing a few more textbooks and maybe, one day, I will attempt something entertaining. For now, I am attempting to narrow the scope of my current texts, so my students can really concentrate on the needs of the current class and not all of the extraneous information that adds some interest, but primarily adds bulk. Communication skills are geared not to last just until the end of the class, but for a lifetime. I aim to provide the tools to empower my students to achieve those skills.
