Tessa Ellis

I am a mother of two smart, talented children. I’ve been a second grade public school teacher for over a decade. I love music, my family (fur babies definitely included), and friends. I wrote this Children’s book because I’ve experienced so many students and families losing their pets within my years in education. I wanted to give them something that would hopefully help with their grief. As someone who loves animals and has had a fur baby all my life, when they pass it is devastating. Our pets are by our side through it all. Our children grow up with them as their first companions. They teach us all so much in the short time we have them, which is why it is so hard when they leave us. Creating this book will hopefully help families talk through their grief and create something that they can memorialize their beloved pet.
