Hi, I'm Theresa Jackson. In 2016, my journey to becoming an author started. I decided to use my experience writing for pharmaceutical companies and my master's degree in clinical research for something a bit more fulfilling. I quit my job in medical communications and started writing for people. It was really scary, but by tapping into interesting but incredibly dry scientific research and rewriting it, I found a way to be useful. I always ask myself one question: why is research done if it's not going to be used by anyone? Why this in mind I made progress, bit by bit. My first book, "Loss of a Parent," was to help people grieve for their parents. I lost my father in 2007 and struggled to find my way back. Eventually I read a book on the subject, which helped a lot. I realized that despite grief for a parent being almost universally experienced by most adults, at that time, little had been written. My next book, "How to Handle a Narcissist," used a similar blend of thoroughly researched, cutting-edge theory, and combines this with a range of case studies to provide an informed and objective approach to narcissism, with a human touch. I worked hard to avoid tapping into the usual stigma and negative rhetoric around narcissists, to provide the reader with greater insight and understanding, without bolstering their anger or pain. Now I'm location independent, and spend much of my time in Italy. Finally I love life again- something I whole-heartedly believe everyone deserves to do.
