The Michigan native and Northwestern graduate served in the United States Coast Guard as a Machinery Technician (MK). His debut book LZ Sitting Duck: The fight for FSB Argonne with John Arsenault details the accounts of 1st Battalion 4th Marines Operation Purple Martin’s actions on March 20th 1969 in the upper remote corner of South Vietnam. Released April 29th 2021 by Liberty Hill Publishers the book describes first hand accounts of the fight for FSB Argonne told by Marines from both infantry, aviation enlisted and officers perspectives. Mr. Gourneau's much anticipated upcoming “The Home wrecker at 30,000 feet: The Life Of Lucy Lucerne" based on documented true events that inspired the novel will be released in the very near future with a continuation of another Vietnam memoir in progress titled “Into The Valley Of Death” the precursor to the first released book "LZ Sitting Duck: The Fight For FSB Argonne" detailing Charlie Company 1st Battalion 4th Marines actions on Hill 400/484 February 26th, 1969 to March 9th, 1969. Mr. Gourneau resides in suburban Chicago, Illinois.
