Thomas Rippy

I am a retired businessman. I am an outdoorsman and have had a love of animals and everything mechanical since boyhood. A great joy in my life has been hiking in the Florida Everglades with my retrievers, both Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Labradors. During the wet season, the water sometimes hip deep in places, and the dogs loving it! A few other hobbies in life were fishing and boating [ I owned a large fishing supply business], and restoring and modifying older vehicles, trucks in particular. I also enjoy metalworking and woodworking. I love making yard art for friends and family. I am also an expert saltwater aquarist, the inspiration for my book, “Paul and Frank Build A Sea Zoo.” I have had many adventures in life, some were all fun, and a few had frightening moments. Through my life’s experiences, I have developed a unique perspective on human nature, and the natural world. All of my books have themes that children will enjoy, and learn from. True friendship is a theme in all of my books, as well as selflessness, helping others and animals in need, being compassionate, and the personal joy that comes from doing so. I began writing children’s books several years ago upon retiring, and it has been a truly rewarding experience. I have more children’s books on the way, and a few novels too.
