Thomas Waldron

Thomas R Waldron was on born Aug 1939, in Sparta, Illinois. He graduated from Clemson University in Jan,1962 with a BS in Civil Eng. He then graduated from USAF pilot training program in March,1963. After flying KC-135 jet tankers, he transitioned into Sikorsky Helicopters,the HH-3 and the HH-53. Tom flew combat missions during the Vietnam War era. The climax to flying combat was in November 20-21, 1970 when he was one of the pilots on Apple 3, the mission gunship for the raid on the Son Tay POW camp northwest of Hanoi, North Vietnam. He retired from his job at the pentagon in 1984. He has two sons, David and Jon. He and his wife have sinced retired in the Phonix, Az area.
