-- Who is Tiago Henriques? With more than 10 years of experience as a Public Speaker, Tiago Henriques has done hundreds of public talks. He was born in 1987, in Portugal, and is the Author of 3 books -- and counting -- and the creator and editor of the Portuguese Science Project, "Ciência Desenhada," where complicated science is explained in a simple way, using whiteboard animation techniques. -- What's the origin of his unique teaching method? Tiago developed his own practical and down-to-earth teaching method inspired by his experiences with the Portuguese Deaf Community and their use of highly visual, descriptive and easy-to-understand language. This teaching method is the backbone of his books, courses and remaining projects. -- What does this teaching method look like? First, a thorough investigation of the available scientific literature is performed. Then, Tiago builds a map of ideas, identifying the main concepts and verifying how they connect with each other. This produces a web of ideas, similar to a mind map. Then, each concept and idea is explained through simple and visually-rich comparisons. This allows the person to duplicate the learning process in his own mind, without having to go through all the scientific literature. Finally, many examples and practical applications of the concept are given to the reader. This creates an immersive learning experience, even with complex subjects. In the end, the reader can grab those very same comparisons and practical examples and use them to teach other people.
