Tien Chiu

Tien Chiu is a textile artist, a writer, and a teacher based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She's been fascinated by the creative process for over three decades, both as an award-winning artist and as a software industry veteran. Tien studied mathematics at Caltech, then managed software projects for almost two decades before leaving high-tech to pursue a career in art. She believes that the artistic/analytical divide is hooey, and that art and technology should embrace and enhance each other - both in making art and in forging community.
