I wrote my first novella in 6th grade, but it wasn't until junior high that things got serious, when I wrote a proto-Red Dawn novel featuring seventh grade me saving our town from commie invaders. Countless WW2 models, Alistair MacLean novels, and a semester in Luxembourg led to a serious commitment to writing and my debut novel. I enjoy what I call thrillers-with-heart; stories that feature pulse-pounding action but heroes forged by their commitment and courage more than their competence and skill. When not writing, I push electricity around, build things, and watch too much media. Many of these I get to do with my best friend and wife Mary in Carmel, Indiana.
