Timothy Brown’s music is noted for its “immediate musical impact “ with its roots in the “neo-romantic” style of music composition. His use of traditional formal structural elements are embedded in a wide array of compositions which includes works for Orchestra, Ballet, Choral, Chamber works, and over 300 publications written specifically for the piano and pedagogical purposes. After his graduate studies at the University of North Texas, he was awarded a research fellowship from Royal Holloway, University of London, where he performed his postgraduate studies in music composition and orchestration with the English Composer, Brian Lock. He later continued his research at the well known Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Foundation in Rome, Italy. His numerous credits as a composer include the first prize at the Alienor International Harpsichord Competition for his harpsichord solo, Suite Española (Centaur records). Most recent programs include his original compositions showcased at the Spoleto Music Festival, the Library of Congress Concert Series in Washington D.C, Carnegie Hall (Weill Hall), the Lincoln Center (Rose Hall) in New York City and the “Mozarthaus” in Vienna, Austria. Recent world premieres include the 2014 staging of his ballet score “The Happy Prince” by the Ballet Foundation of the XXI century, commissions by the Chapman University Chamber Orchestra and Concert Choir, Collaborative Commissioned Composer for the 2015 MTNA National Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, and commissions from the Carter Albrecht Music Foundation, the Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education, and the Daniel Pearl Music Foundation. Mr. Brown is currently an exclusive composer/clinician for the FJH Music Co. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.(ASCAP).
