The Waggy Dog Tales children’s book series was born out of my deep love for my rescue dogs, the loyal fans they’ve gained over the years and my mission to encourage my stepchildren to step away from screens and rediscover the joy of reading. As a passionate advocate for dog rescue, I’m proud to sponsor Silverfox Dog Rescue, an amazing charity dedicated to helping homeless dogs find their forever homes. Having two children of different ages, I’ve found a unique niche by creating two styles of books about the same heartwarming stories. Whether younger readers are enjoying family story-time or older kids are tackling more in-depth chapter books on their own, there’s a version for everyone. Both formats include hand-drawn illustrations, because no matter the age, every child loves engaging visuals. The stars of these tales are my beloved rescue dogs—Dooey, Ronnie, and Keef—who fill my life with unconditional love and laughter. Over the years, friends and even strangers have commented on their unique personalities and quirks, often encouraging me to share their stories. And so, The Waggy Dog Tales was born. What you read, is based on true events. Each character in the series has a distinct personality, just as they do in real life. My hope is that every child will find their own favourite, just as I did with beloved childhood classics like Mog the Forgetful Cat and Peter Rabbit, stories that remain dear to me even today. Plus, there are exciting new characters waiting to make their debut in future books! Before diving into writing, I spent 20 years as a horse trainer and showjumper. These days, I’ve embraced a quieter lifestyle with my hooman family, rescue dogs, ex-battery hens, and my horse, Hero—all of whom feature in my books. I’m excited to expand the world of my stories with a new series, The Pony Tales, drawing on my extensive equestrian experience to create captivating adventures for horse lovers.
