
Tony Rea is a writer and people's historian who lives in Devon, England who writes history, historical fiction and short stories. Following a successful series of GSCE history books, Tony wrote SOUTH DEVON IN THE GREAT WAR (Pen and Sword, 2016) which was followed in 2019 by a stage play, THE ARMISTICE, about the Great War and how it impacted Ivybridge and the South Hams. His first novel, RED SKY OVER DARTMOOR (2017) and its sequel, THE ROAD TO ENNISKEAN (2023) feature Marc Bergeron and Doncha Ryan and are set in 1918-22. With two other Devon based writers, John McKenna and Anne Thomson, Tony wrote and published ECLIPSE: an anthology of short stories set, mainly, in the Westcountry where thy live. Tony is currently working with Sapere Books on a five-book series of World War 2 action novels featuring RAF pilot Gus 'Bouncer' Beaumont. The first three books [BOUNCER'S BATTLE, BOUNCER'S BLENHEIM and BOUNCER'S BUTCHERBIRD] were published in 2024 and are available in E-book and paperback formats. In his spare time Tony is a local councillor and volunteer with the fantastic IvyFridge community fridge project. He also sails and volunteers at Brixham Yacht Club. He enjoys walking on Dartmoor, tending his allotment and spending time with his ever expanding family.
