Wow. It's been 25 years since my book was published and it's never been out of print. But now that it's in Kindle I think the book will finally disappear, along with all those yellowing pages. I worked on a second book for ten years before I had to stop due to repetitive stress in my hands. The subject of the book was so good (how marriages work in Northern Nigeria where they are conservative Islamic and polygamous) that I couldn't give it up. My downfall came when I wanted to make the book a page-turner, like Shooting The Boh, and had the bright idea of giving up the truth. When my hands gave out (permanently) I was almost finished but not happy with the fictionalized story. I'm back to thinking truth is stranger than fiction. But now I'm happily at work again, creating stories visually. See my work at tracyjohnston.com. Everything is, of course, a work in progress but life is that way, isn't it?
