God rescued and healed Tricia Opitz when she was trapped in debilitating anxiety and depression. She writes to help others struggling with these mental and emotional disorders. She also writes for those with loved ones suffering from these disorders so they can glimpse their loved ones' experiences. Tricia writes short devotions for her blog on her website. She shares insights she discovered in Scripture to help others in their daily walk with Jesus. She chooses ten of these devotions every Christmas and creates a printed booklet to share with friends and family during the holiday season. Besides writing, Tricia volunteers at a local food pantry/clothes closet. She’s addicted to funny, clean jokes and has filled a tote box with ones she’s collected over the years. Humor can be an excellent antidote to depression. Proverbs 17:22 reminds us that a cheerful heart helps like medicine. Tricia, a retired school librarian, is a wife and mother of a daughter with a family. She enjoyed reading and writing even as a child, writing short poems on various subjects and spending summers devouring book after book. Her work as a librarian fostered her interest in reading and, eventually, writing. Tricia resides in a rural area of northeast Oklahoma.
