As girl raised on a farm, and with an education started in a one room school house, by default I taught school in the far North of central Canada for 35 years. Upon retirement, I turned my focus on the things that made me feel my best and I chose where and how I wanted to live. My life in all areas just kept getting better. I found pleasure in writing as I thought about how the hard times pushed me into this better place and I felt compelled to share my experiences and experiments. My first two "children's" books offer a glimpse of some of my early years' experiences and speak to the child in all of us. My spiritual growth is celebrated in my third book and moves from the shadows into the light. My critics have called it dark but I believe it was necessary for me to speak my truth. Long ago, I learned that when we suppress our negative feelings like anger disappointment, sadness, etc. the love and light left in our heart is also suppressed. I have rediscovered the joy and playfulness of my youth. The three journals were the perfect tools to keep me on track when it was time to do the work to build a more balanced life and happier days. I reap the benefit of the work and can now fish in the sunshine as it filters through the pine trees and sparkles on the waters of the White Mountains in Arizona. My last, more lighthearted work is a tribute to generations past, and a fun novelty for the cabin, campsite, sportsman's kitchen, or any place another adventuresome soul may rest his/her head.
