Vanessa Ogle is the Julie and Martin Franklin Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where she teaches modern European history. Born in Hamburg, Germany, she was educated at the Free University of Berlin, the Sorbonne, and Harvard University, where she obtained her PhD. She has published on topics such as the history of time, capitalism, and the history of rights. When she is not teaching, researching, and writing, Ogle is most likely to be found on a spinning bike or exploring cities by taking long urban walks.
