I was born in the Washington, DC and raised in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. I'm a professor of Latinx literature and culture in the English Department at Queens College and in the doctoral program in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures at the Graduate Center, both part of the City University of New York.
