HI! My name is Vanessa Pike-Russell. I am a retired primary school teacher from Brisbane, Queensland Australia. I am also a founder of the Land Hermit Crab Owners Society and Crabstreet Journal magazine. It is my hope that by telling the story from the perspective of the hermit crabs children will gain empathy and understanding that they are complex creatures and need a tropical environment with adequate diet and tank hygiene, not just seen as disposable first pets.
