Vanessa Seder is the author of Eat Cool (Rizzoli Books, 2021), a modern recipe collection and guidebook for everyday eating in hot weather. Eat Cool was named an Amazon Editor's Pick Cookbook of the Month in April 2021. Her previous book, Secret Sauces (Kyle/Octopus Books, 2017), received honorable mention at the 2018 Readable Feast Awards (Single Subject category). She is a co-founder and partner at Relish & Co, a Portland-based culinary design collaborative and she appears regularly as a guest culinary instructor at the Stonewall Kitchen Headquarters in York, Maine. Vanessa has appeared on Cookery by the Book podcast, On the Menu podcast, Food Schmooze with Faith Middleton on WNPR, and Love Maine Radio. She has been a guest on the television shows 207 on NBC Portland Maine and The Hallmark Channel's Home and Family. Originally from California, Vanessa spent more than a decade working in the New York City food media industry. She is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education and earned her BA from Emerson College. She has food styled for cookbooks, television, editorial, packaging, and video production, and tested and developed recipes for cookbooks and magazines including Ladies Home Journal, Real Simple, Martha Stewart Everyday Food, All You, Health, Cooking Light, and Hannaford Fresh. Vanessa currently resides in Portland, Maine with her husband and daughter.
