Victor Dover is an urban designer, city planner and futurist. He is a cofounder of Dover, Kohl & Partners Town Planning. A bike commuter, constant traveler, and former five-time Ironman triathlete, Dover focuses on re-establishing healthy, economically sound neighborhoods. A revolutionary makeover of our cities is underway to appeal to a new generation of creative, demanding citizens. Victor Dover co-authored STREET DESIGN: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns (Wiley, January 2014; Second Edition coming February 2025), considered the leading textbook on the subject. He is an expert on how to fix our streets, and, in the process, shape enduring cities that people really love. Dover also wrote the chapter on Streets in the Charter Book from the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU). For almost four decades, Dover has been designing walkable, sustainable development and redevelopment. His work spans five continents and ranges from revitalizing historic downtowns to retrofitting suburbia. His projects include Plan El Paso, hailed as "America's Best Smart Growth Plan," the neighborhoods of Glenwood Park in Atlanta and I'On in South Carolina, and the Columbia Pike revitalization plan in Arlington, Virginia. Victor is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He served as the national chair of the CNU from 2010 - 2012. He and partner Joseph Kohl were recipients of the Seaside Prize in 2024. He was recently named an awardee of "Who's Who in Sustainability" by Smart City Americas. He is past president of the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade and serves on the boards of both Tropical Audubon Society and Dade Heritage Trust.
