Victor Moore

Born and raised in the great city of Chicago, Victor developed a knack for writing at the young age of 12. Sparked by the pain caused in his life and having no other outlet, he unlocked a talent that was God given and began writing. He started writing letters to “Love Interests" and after proof reading them, realized that most of the words had a certain rhythm to them. Thinking nothing of it Victor just finished writing the letters. A couple of years later, he met others in high school who shared the same talent. He then began to help write songs with them. Torn between poetry and song writing, he went with his peers and stuck with song writing. In the year 2000 Victor left his home town and joined the United States Air Force and began his journey. The first stop, Portugal. Victor spent a year and a half overseas discovering that, yes, it was poetry that he wanted to do. He still loved writing songs but his heart was with poetry. Through failed love attempts, some on purpose, he found writing came natural. Maturing over the years, Victor's poem became less about love and more on relevant topics such as race, politics and religion. He still had a soft spot for love but those poems were always written on a case by case basis. After the military, Victor continued his journey through college. Through sports his traveling continued from Florida thru California and for now has him residing in Kansas. Evolving with experiences, he added performance to his portfolio. Moving around Kansas brought him into contact with a few friends that share a vision of bringing poetry back to the forefront. Victor's writing technique is unique, in that he has an ancient treasured soul, that affords him a way with words that both entice the spirit and allure the mind. This enhances the words as the theme digests on the readers palate. The result; invigorating stanzas that, albeit robust at times, brings a thought provoking calm to the reader. His writings deliver culture through words; his words form deep thought, congruous- many times rhythmic, a sense of wonder fills the mind. His creativity, articulation and his ability to use words to penetrate through heart and mind is a combination of intellect that is rarely found.
