Walter Mason

Walter is a travel writer, blogger and speaker with a special interest in spirituality. Born and raised in rural North Queensland, Australia, Walter's erratic academic career has taken in the study of theatre, Chinese, English literature and six months at the Ho Chi Minh Social Sciences University in Vietnam. Walter is in the final stages of completing his PhD in the history of self-help literature in Australia. First visiting Vietnam in 1994, he has been back many times since, living in remote Buddhist monasteries and hermitages, downtown hairdressing salons and distant Khmer villages. His lifelong interest in Eastern spirituality has been inspired by the Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh.
