Wesley D. Balda

Wesley Balda (Ph.D., University of Cambridge) is president of the Simeon Institute, a nonprofit organization creating crisis management capacity in the U.S. and internationally since 1992. Balda has led executive management and PhD programs at the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management and served as Assistant Dean for Portland programs at the University of Oregon’s Lundquist College of Business and Executive Director of the Oregon Business Institute, as well as Executive Director of the Centre for Advancing International Management [AIM Centre] and Professor of Management at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. He was the founding Dean at the George Fox University School of Management, held an agency head position in local government, has served as a destroyer officer in the U.S. Navy and, as a sworn police officer, also piloted police helicopters in Southern California. He received the PhD in History from the University of Cambridge, focusing on organizational sustainability. He has taught and published in management and leadership areas in U.S. and international universities for nearly thirty years.
