关于作者

I am the guy who didn’t follow any of the rules. Instead of attending college after high school, I became an apprentice shipwright to learn how to build and restore wooden yachts. As an apprentice, I studied the mechanics of wooden boats and naval architecture. After completing my apprenticeship, I became a professional sailor, predominantly working on luxury wooden sailing yachts. I worked for years, rising in rank, and eventually becoming a licensed captain, all while tracking over 25,000 blue-water miles as I sailed throughout Europe, New England, the Caribbean, Central America, and the California coast. I've sailed some of the most famous yachts in the world and participated in numerous world-class sailing events such as the America’s Cup Jubilee, The Prada Classic Yacht Challenge, and the 12-meter World Championships. Eventually, I used my very specialized woodworking acumen to transition to working in luxury real estate development. I wrote a syllabus and taught at MIT for ten years, and I completed two research projects: one was about the application of Photogrammetry, and the other was exploring the use of free software for building 3D models. I am also an accomplished maritime artist specializing in customizable prints of a variety of yachts. In 2014, I relocated to Los Angeles and launched my design firm, which specializes in designing and overseeing the development of luxury residential ground-up architecture. I also design and fabricate motorized furniture.
