William Barden has written more than 50 books and 200 magazine columns. Books include many about microcomputer hardware and software, but he has also authored such diverse subjects as Japan travel, radio science, and money-making ideas. Barden was in on the early days of microcomputers B.A. (before Apple) when there were a dozen companies producing such microcomputers as the MITS Altair. He wrote many books about Tandy (Radio Shack) products, including the Color Computer, a highly successful personal computer that sold hundreds of thousands of units. Barden has a B.S. degree in Computer Science and has done post graduate work in an MBA program. He divided his time between I.T. consulting, specializing in Microsoft software development, and writing. Currently, he is an I.T. consultant and writer who lives in Wisconsin and Japan. Barden has traveled extensively in Japan and the product of his travels is his popular "Practical Japan Travel Guide", a fully illustrated guide that illustrates the joys of Japanese travel, a highly underrated travel destination. His hobbies include small computers, computer interfacing to the real world, digital photography, world travel, hiking, drones (not the weaponized versions!), Japanese culture, and complaining about lack of time.
