William was born in the Catskills in Walton, NY and after his parents moved the famility to Buffalo, NY he grew up in Williamsville, NY. During the senior year of High School his family lived outside Lincoln England in Tattershall. He attended Buffalo State Teacher's College where he earned a Bachelors in anthropology and then Northern Arizona University where he earned a masters in Applied Anthropology. William currently works at a University where he assists with academic research and teaches fencing. He takes part in living history demonstrations; specifically Scottish and French and Indian War living history. He studies 16th and 17th century northern Italian fencing and other combat styles. He writes books on historical fencing and in 2012 started writing fiction in the Steampunk and Western genres. William speaks a smattering of a number of languages including Navajo, Italian, Spanish, German and Welsh.
