Wolfgang Joensson

关于作者

Wolfgang Joensson is a South African born German designer and educator who lives in Paris, France and Corona del Mar, CA. Throughout his career he has worked with international clients ranging from small startup companies to industrial giants, creating award-winning product, graphic, interface and package design. He has worked for startups like Hommage and multinational giants like Samsung, and on products ranging from rubber ducks to gas chromatographs. His creative credo is to make products easier to use and understand. And, though beauty is a subjective concept, he cares about it deeply. Starting his design career with Pentagram in London and frogdesign in the Black Forest, he opened his own design office in 1988, now VIEWSDESIGN, where he works on product, interface and brand design. Simultaneous to his design work, he became an educator at age thirty-two when he was appointed chairman for product design at Art Center College of Design, on its European campus in Switzerland. After that, he was named Directeur des Diplômes at Strate College in Paris and became professor and department chair at a new Swiss design school, running its product design department. After his departure, it was integrated in the Basel School of Arts. He likes cocktails, cooking, culture and conversation with clever people.
