Xue Mo

Xue Mo, born in 1963 and also known as Chen Kaihong, is a renowned author from Liangzhou, Gansu, China. His novel Into the Desert won the 2024 Independent Press Award for Literary Fiction in the United States. He has been nominated three times for the Mao Dun Literature Prize and has won the Dunhuang Literature and Art Award six consecutive times. Xue Mo has written over 150 works, which have been translated into more than 30 languages, including English, French, German, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. In 2022, he topped the International Media Spotlight List at the Frankfurt Book Fair, drawing more attention than the Spanish Guest of Honor. This achievement was hailed as one of the most remarkable and memorable events of the 2022 Frankfurt Book Fair.
