Yoav Gilad, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine and Human Genetics at the University of Chicago, where he also serves as the Associate Dean for Biomedical and Health Informatics and the Chief of the Section of Genetic Medicine. Dr. Gilad's research focuses on understanding genetic and regulatory differences between humans and closely related primates. His work aims to identify the genetic basis of human-specific traits, including variations that contribute to higher susceptibility to certain diseases in humans compared to other primates.
