Yulia Yu Sakurazawa

Yulia Yu. Sakurazawa is an accomplished full-time author specializing in LGBTQ+ novels since 1998. With roots in Fukushima, she spent eight years in New Jersey before settling in Chiba, a suburb of Tokyo. Recognized as a top-selling, award-winning writer in Japan, Yulia has published over 100 novels in both Japanese and English. She playfully insists that her ancestral surname, “Сакрасава” (Sakrasava), was mistakenly transliterated to “Sakurazawa” during the Cyrillic-to-Latin conversion. Among her East Slavic friends, she enjoys being addressed as “Yulia Yurievna Sakrasava (Юлия Юрьевна Сакрасава).” Nonetheless, there is little evidence of East Slavic heritage in her appearance. Her accolades include the Outstanding Performance Award at the 2017 Amazon x Yoshimoto Gensaku Kaihatsu Project (Original Work Development Project).
