I grew up in the upper west side of New York city. My passion for writing began when I started to learn to speak English at 9 years of age. My family migrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic in the 1970's. Growing up in New York taught me about diversity, respect, and friendships. I use my life and the life of others to create my books for you to enjoy. I believe learning is a life long process. As long as you have breath, you have the ability to learn. Therefore, creativity is also an ability one can cultivate and grow with the information we gain from our experiences. I have 4 children, which are now grown and have children of their own. I hold a BS in Communication Disorders and two master's degrees. I completed an MFA in Creative Writing at Full Sail University and an MEd in Early Childhood Education at the American College of Education where I was inducted into the Honers Society. I have been a Developmental Therapist in Early Intervention for about 15 years. My children's books are mostly based on my real life experiences as a child. My childhood memories are colorful, joyous, and sweet. I hope you can go down memory lane with me in every word and illustration. Short stories have a way of quickly capturing your imagination and placing you in the scene of the story. They are quick, exciting, and fun to read.
