This book is named one of the best history books of all time for a reason! It tells the inspiring true story of the Forgotten Latino Contribution to the Allied Victory in World War II; something unfortunately not usually covered in schools. The stories are deep, emotional, and gripping. As a Latino, it’s important to me to see that history reflected. Everyone should read this book to honor these unsung heroes. —Wilmer Valderamma
I love how they both share their love for America. These are two iconic and prolific American men sharing their experiences and finding many things they have in common throughout the process. It just illustrates what it means to live the American Dream and, at the end of the day, how connected we all are as Americans in our shared experiences. —Wilmer Valderamma
Alejandra takes you on her journey of being a first gen Latina: from her beginnings as a Mexican American immigrant raised by a single mother in LA to becoming a Harvard graduate, White House Aide to President Obama, and a candidate for the United States Congress. It’s a powerful memoir and an inspiring account of what it means to be first generation in the United States; relatable to those who have experienced it and eye-opening to those who haven’t. —Wilmer Valderamma
I love how this one shows you that wealth is not all about the money. Our human experiences are the real wealth of our lives. It’s an incredibly engaging, humorous, and inspiring work that helped adjust my mindset and make sure I was focused on the right things: improving and strengthening the meaningful relationships in my life and enjoying every moment because life is precious and short. —Wilmer Valderamma
