I’ve been impatiently waiting for this romantasy, the latest in the Crowns of Nyaxia series, and I was not disappointed (sleep deprived from staying up too late reading, but not disappointed). First, some housekeeping. This book is the third in the overall series, but it’s the first of two books in The Shadowborn Duet that will follow Mische, who we were previously introduced to as Raihn’s best friend. Sentenced to death for murdering the vampire prince who Turned her, Mische is rescued by the terrifying Shadowborn prince Asar, only to be forced into a mission to the underworld. What Mische doesn’t expect is how much the darkness and beauty of the underworld, and Asar, call to her, even as she seeks redemption from the sun god who has forsaken her. Like the previous books in the series, this one is lush, dark, and transporting, with a slow-burn romance that is well worth the wait. It is also filled with humanity as Mische grapples with light versus dark and what love looks like. Now I’m impatiently waiting for the next book. —Abby Abell, Amazon Editor
Wow, this book made me happy. Cousens is a master, and her latest romantic comedy is an absolute treat. Anna Appleby is a columnist who has zero interest in dating after her divorce. But when she’s challenged to spice up her column or lose it to her work nemesis, Will, she rises to the challenge with an idea to only go out on dates with men picked by her children. Hilarity and awkwardness ensue. And she finds she is becoming frustratingly attracted to the ambitious, charismatic, and annoying Will. The chemistry between these characters was so much fun to read, and there are endless endearing moments with Anna and her children, her dates, and her family. This is a book about second chances and unexpected connections. It is witty and heartfelt and made me smile the whole way through. I loved it even more than I expected to. —Abby Abell, Amazon Editor
I don’t want to say I’m obsessed with this series, but I’m not not obsessed. The third in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, Lost and Lassoed follows enemies Teddy and Gus. Lately, Teddy is feeling like she’s behind in life, while Gus is struggling to balance temporarily being a single dad and managing the ranch. What’s the solution? With Teddy recently losing her job, she’s free to help out as Gus’s nanny. Just one problem—they despise each other. But Gus’s sister is Teddy’s best friend, and she can’t say no to her. Have I mentioned enemies-to-lovers is my favorite trope? As Teddy and Gus begin to see each other in a new light, their mutual animosity melts away, leaving behind undeniable chemistry that they’ve been denying for years. But is this newfound attraction, and maybe more, worth the risk? Like the other books in this series, this steamy Western romance transported me to Wyoming with its incredible views and sexy, vulnerable cowboys. —Abby Abell, Amazon Editor
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to have a big nosey family involved in everything, including your love life, look no further than the third book in the Vega Family Love Stories series. This can be read as a standalone, but is best paired with at least book one in the series. My favorite character in this series, by far, is the flirty and feisty patriarch, Papo, who, with the best intentions, is always scheming and interfering in the lives of his grandchildren. This time around, Papo has his sights on Leo, his mini-me heartthrob musician, firefighter, and light-hearted jokester. Leo has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with his sister’s estranged best-friend, Sofi. Sofi is back in town from a year abroad ready to make amends with her best friend and resume the life she left behind, with the exception of Leo—who she plans to avoid at all costs. Papo and Dona Fina, Sofi’s grandmother, hatch a plan to pull their grandkids together. A love song to Puerto Rican pride, this hot and sexy romance will warm hearts with messages of forgiveness, new beginnings, and family. —Kami Tei, Amazon Editor
You can take the girl out of the city and make her thrive in the country. I’m pretty sure that is not how the saying goes, but it’s exactly what happens in Love in Bloom. After her estranged grandparents’ disappearance, Emma learns she has inherited their farm in rural Green Acres, Georgia. As a successful publicist in Atlanta, at first Emma has no clue what to do with this property, but after a series of unfortunate events, she finds herself seeking an escape and now has the perfect place to run to. Left to run the farm is Dan, the sexy and mysterious London breed farm manager whom Emma is forced to work with. Emma quickly realizes she has a lot to learn, not only about the farm, but also the tight-knit community of Green Acres and the secrets that have kept her family apart for years. There are many decisions to be made: What to do with the farm? What to do with her life back in Atlanta? As Emma grapples with all of this, Dan is by her side. This friends-to-lovers romance is perfect for those looking for the courage to let go and escape their reality to try something new, even if just for a little while. —Kami Tei, Amazon Editor
