It’s truly a testament to Penelope’s skills with her craft as a writer that even when dealing with heartache in my personal life her book put a smile on my face. I snuck away every chance i could to read the book because i just wanted to get lost in the world of Bastien & Fleur.I was totally shocked when I read that Bastien is looking for his own brother. The internal battle he must be dealing with to end what his brother is doing without hurting him. That will be a challenge I look forward to seeing how he handles it and how Godric reacts in return.Adrien to me walked away too easily and I dont trust that he won’t come back and give Fleur more trouble. But if he does I know he will have to deal with Bastien and that should be fun LOL.I understand how Fleur is scared especially after such heartbreak but I hope she gives herself some grace since none of it was her fault. Het husband was just garbage and didn’t deserve someone like her in the first place. Mistakes happen but what he did was a habit and part of the person he is; glad she is divorcing him.Now I have to impatiently wait to see what happens with Bastien and Fleur and it’s gonna be so hard. Penelope just writes books that draw you in to parallel worldsof passion, love, vulnerability, strong heroines and bad boys. Which to me is the best kind of books to read. Can’t wait for book two…

The Butcher by @penelopeskyauthor has arrived and I am obsessed with this maaaaaan….
I am always so excited when Penelope starts a new series and this one has me hooked especially being set in Paris!!!
We meet Fleur in Paris, she is going through a divorce after finding out her husband was cheating on her…
She is starting over, moves into a small apartment and she starts working in a bar…and one night in walks The Butcher…
Bastian aka The Butcher is like the Boss of the Underworld, there is a secret society there and he keeps most of the criminal organisations in line…he is dangerous…
There is no slow burn here, you will be getting the spice and it is hot!! Fleur and Bastian are so drawn to each other and i love it!!!
There will be no miscommunications, Bastian will tell you exactly what he’s feeling and he so damn possessive!!!
I can’t wait for moreeeeee!!
