Where can I find my own Sa-Khui alien?!
Besides Liz’s behavior giving me moderate whiplash towards Raahosh in the first few parts of the book, she was a pretty relatable character for me. She was witty, independent, and very outspoken which I liked and Raahosh?! What a misunderstood sweetheart!! He’s become my favorite so far. I just wish the story went more in depth of a back story with how he got so scarred up and lost one of his horns. I also keep reading about the women all becoming pregnant and cannot wait to read about all of their kits!!

This is the start of an addicting series!
The Mindfuck series has been on my TBR for far too long now and after finally reading book 1 I couldn’t be more upset with myself because I love this story so far! It gives me the vibes of Criminal minds and Hunt Me Darling all together even though this book was of course written first. I love the twists and cliff hangers of book 1 and will be definitely devouring books 2-5 immediately.

Not at all what I expected it to be!
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️3.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️I want to start this review by saying that reading this book was nothing I expected it to be. I read the synopsis of this book with the expectation that it would be a dark romance story; especially after looking at the cover and beautiful sprayed edges of the book but I wouldn’t really consider this book to be dark romance at all actually. This book was more along the lines of a thriller, mystery, or even a suspenseful ghost story and all though I loved Aiden’s wordplay and dominating character; this book was all over the place in terms of plot until you’re given clarity at the end of the book AFTER THE PLOT TWIST is discovered. It was just a lot of confusing back and forth with the FMC and there wasn’t really much connection with her “pen pal” throughout the book like I thought there was going to be, just a confusing cryptic letter here or there every other chapter so that was a bit disappointing seeing as how the name of the book is literally “Pen Pal”. The plot for most of this book is pretty much confusing back and forth of the FMC lapses in memory, spicey filled chapters, short cryptic letter chapters, and then a clarifying plot twist at the very end of the book.If you’re looking for a thriller or suspenseful ghost story with a bit of spice I’d recommend this book but if you’re looking for a dark romance story I’d maybe save this one for later.

The best Holiday Horror Novella to read for Valentine’s Day!
Holy Hell. This novella was short, sweet, hot, and gave me everything I was looking for as Aiden Pierce always does when she delivers literally anything! Even though this novella is only about 90 pages long I was completely captivated and invested in the story from start to finish. I quite literally devoured the pages of this story in a single sitting. I absolutely recommend reading any of these Holiday Horror novellas for anyone to read if you’re into or just getting into dark romance or monster romance because Aiden Pierce is the best there is!

I wanted more and I found it…
After finishing the first book of Ice Planet Barbarians I immediately jumped in and read this novella right after because I just needed more! I just wanted the scenes to be a bit more detailed in this novella like they were in the book but I understand that the novella is meant to be short and sweet. I also wish that I would’ve been able to read about Georgie’s and Vectal’s kit in this story but maybe I will get a glimpse of it in a later book? Hopefully! My goal is to read these stories in chronological order and I’m so happy with how the stories are progressing so far. Onto the next one! Thank you kindle unlimited!!

This book was nothing like I was expecting it to be… IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER!
This book definitely took me by surprise from the very first page. I had heard so much about this series but didn’t think I would enjoy it at all but I couldn’t have been more wrong! The only thing I would change about this book would be to have chapters rather than Parts but I still loved the dual narrative anyway. It was funny, easy to follow, and made me excited to read the rest of the books in the series! So for me it’s a 4.5 star read!!

I wanted to like this story so bad but it just wasn’t for me.
I saw the cover of this book and thought it was so cute so I added it to my TBR. I had hopes of finally reading something outside of my normal reading genre to see if I could get into other genres but this book specifically just wasn’t it for me. For me the story felt forced, a bit rushed, and the back and forth throughout the story became pretty annoying pretty quickly and almost caused me to DNF the book entirely. The story is a cute idea but it wasn’t executed as well as it could have been.

I fell in love with this series more than I ever thought I would…
First of all, this was absolutely a 4.5/5 star read for me! & 4.5/5 stars for the series in its entirety! Secondly, let me start by saying that Desmond Flynn has my heart. I absolutely love his character and how he’s loved Callie through every book in this series. I’m not much of a fantasy reader and this was the first fantasy series I began reading after a long time. It was even my first impression for Laura Thalassa and I can happily say that she didn’t disappoint me. I love this trilogy for all that it was; including the novella which I devoured. I wish the epilogue was told from Desmond’s perspective rather than Callie’s because I would’ve loved to have read his emotions or have known what the shadows and his magic had told him when he found out that his mate was finally pregnant! But all in all, this was an amazing story in my opinion nonetheless and I look forward to reading more of Laura Thalassa’s work going forward!

0.5 ⭐️ This “Screams” amateur Wattpad.
I wanted to read this book simply because I was drawn in by the cover and thought it would be a good read for the holidays but boy oh boy was I left highly disappointed. Let me start by saying that if this book was longer than what it was I most definitely would’ve DNF’d it because the entire story just felt extremely forced and patchy. Between the writing jumping back and forth from present to past tense, to the overly descriptive writing to barely and descriptive writing (it is literally written out step by step how the FMC makes her coffee but later on in the book when “ghostface” and the FMC are doing the deed it says that he’s sucking on her breasts but never took his mask off? Only to then take it off at a later time? Like hello? What?), and then just being extremely confusing with the timeline and unnecessary details this story was just an all around disappointment for me. It had the potential to be such a good holiday novella but the writing just didn’t do it any kind of justice so it was executed very poorly.

I wish this would’ve been the first book!!
I love the Bargainer series so far. I’ve been falling in love with Callie and Desmond’s characters more and more after each book but this one really stole my heart when it came to Desmond and his love for Callie. His perspective of the story and what happened between them just feels so much more raw and heart wrenching to read. You can almost feel the angst and heartbreak in his longing words for her when they were apart and how much he adores her when they’re together. I feel like having his perspective first would’ve given so much more to the story from the beginning but I can see why the author held out his POV till this novella. I just want to go back and reread books one and three simultaneously so that I can get the full emotions from both Callie and Desmond’s point of view! But I’m hoping that the fourth and final book will give me more of Desmond’s point of view simultaneously with Callie’s! All in all I still love the fun ride that this series is altogether and recommend it to anyone beginning their journey into fantasy reading.

The Krampus Monster Romance I’ve been dying for…
Aiden Pierce never fails to make an amazing holiday themed monster romance book and this one didn’t let me down either. The only downfall to any of them is that they always leave me wanting more and more of the story and its characters. Right after Prey for Rabbit, Cry for Krampus is definitely my second favorite holiday novella because who doesn’t love a monster with a devious tongue and built in handle bars? If you’re ever in the mood to dip your toes into some monster smut momma Pierce is always a top tier read in my opinion. The stories have just enough smut to make you hot and bothered but the storyline keeps you tied into the story so much more. Definitely a great quick and fun read for the holidays.

A fantasy series that is easy and enjoyable to read.
A 4.5/5 star read for me personally. I’ve currently been reading the books in this series one after the other because the story of Des and Callie are just so enticing to me. I love everything about Desmond’s character and I love how easy this series is to read. It’s enjoyable. Unlike other fantasy books this one doesn’t have weird words or pronunciations, and no extra interchanging plots that are complicating to follow or understand either. It’s just a story that you can get lost in without having to dread yourself on keeping up with small details or a plethora of characters, etc.. I enjoy that aspect of it. I just wish I knew what happened to Temper halfway through the story! She heals Callie of her wounds and then just disappears and I just wanted more of her character! I was also very happy to finally get to read a chapter from Desmond’s point of view. I almost started to cry with him because of how raw his emotions were in the end. With that being said, I cannot wait to read book 2.5 entirely from his POV!

I’m not much of a fantasy girlie but I thoroughly enjoyed this story!!
I don’t really read much Fantasy because it’s not my usual go to genre but I loved the cover and couldn’t resist. At first the story was a bit slow for me; which I expected because of the world and plot building when it comes to fantasy so I didn’t mind it too much. When I got halfway through the book and the plot really began I couldn’t put the book down! I love the dynamic between Des and Callie. It’s raw and didn’t feel forced or generic to me. Plus Desmond gives me Witcher vibes if the Witcher was fae! Lol! All jokes aside, after getting to the ending and being left a cliff hanger I immediately started book 2 and I am so excited for the journey!!

I should’ve just DNF’d this book…
There’s a lot to dissect when in comes to this book and not in a good way. This book follows the story of a 17 YEAR OLD girl named Morgan who is the leading FMC. She’s 17 YEARS OLD but this is NOT a YA book. In fact, this story would’ve been a bit more realistically accurate if the characters were a bit older and in college because apparently these rich teenagers are just able to do drugs and give BJs in the school bathroom, they have full on parties with Porn playing and underage drinking in every other chapter, orgies, sex out in the open and yet THERES NOT A SINGLE ADULT ANYWHERE? This book made me uncomfortable every time I remembered that this story was following the story of LITERAL CHILDREN. The writing was also a bit too amateur for me because there was literally a phrase saying “I can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube” when referring to not being able to go back on her actions. There was also just so many patches in the plot and it felt rushed and all over the place with too much going on. Also, the relationship between the FMC and MMC is bipolar as hell. As her school bully and her soon to be stepbrother this kid LITERALLY SA her in the middle of the night but she apparently likes it? Almost everyone in this story hates the FMC, her mother, her brother, the other girls at school, and even her “best friend” at times. They all treat her so poorly and constantly tell her to mind her own business but she still continues to “want to help them” and feel bad for them. That constant back and forth was just annoying. What was also annoying was the constant back and forth between Haze’s feelings towards Morgan. One second he hates her guts and then the next he’s having sex with her because she drives him crazy. At one point in the book Morgan literally believes she’s watching him get SA by his swim coach and is caught eavesdropping by Haze. So instead of going home and asking her what she thought she saw at his swim practice he proceeds to have sex with her, tell her she drives him crazy and that he cares for her, etc.., but then takes a nude photo of her to blackmail her with right after? Makes no sense. Morgan is also just eavesdropping in every chapter because that’s the only way we’re given an “insight” on the drama going on in this book. Honestly, just listen to the audiobook if you’re interested in this book so you can get through the 200 something pages of mess a whole lot faster or just skip this one altogether. This one just wasn’t for me.

THIS BOOK WAS HILARIOUSLY CUTE
I really give this book a 4.5/5 stars overall ONLY because I wanted more murder scenes between these two because the banter they had throughout this book was just unmatched! Rowan and Sloane’s chemistry also felt so authentically real. They even had real relationship milestone phases like the puppy love stage, the jealous and insecure phase, etc.. It wasn’t like other books where the main characters are like strangers in one chapter and then immediately hunching and proposing in the next. So that was a huge plus for me! I loved both of these characters. I loved their stories, their raw sense of humor, their honest thoughts and doubts, and their real struggles with balancing their personal lives from their work lives! I definitely recommend reading this book! Whether it’s on Audible (THE VOICE ACTORS DO AN IMPECCABLE JOB!!! 1000/10 would listen again but the bonus chapter is not included!) or on your kindle, the paperback, or the beautiful collector’s edition… (yes I have all four…) JUST READ THE BOOK. But DO NOT EAT ICE CREAM WHILE READING… You’ve been warned… Lmao

The ending of this book shattered my heart to pieces…
I had this book on my TBR for the longest time because I was so drawn to the cover and when the paperback got released with an even more beautiful cover design I decided to finally read it and definitely regret not reading it sooner. This book pulled on my heart strings so much more than I expected to. As a woman who suffers from depression, grew up with a chronically depressed mother, and went through traumatic postpartum depression I found myself in these characters; drawn to them, relating to them in more ways than I imagined I would. I loved this book and I had to continuously reread the ending because I just couldn’t believe the story of these 3 melancholic but devastatingly beautiful characters could end so tragically. It was truly heart wrenching and heartbreaking. I cried so hard but felt so relieved afterwards because I was able to release my emotions into this book and it just felt so long overdue. PLEASE READ THEIR BEAUTIFUL STORY.

Cute but Redundant.
I feel like if you’ve read one Rina Kent book, you’ve honestly read them all because the storyline and character developments are all kind of copy/paste. I’m just trying to knock the rest of this series off of my TBR at this point.

I would skip this one…
I’m gonna rate this one a 1.5 stars because unfortunately everything just fell flat for me: the plot, the characters, and just the structure of the book in general. Everything just felt so stereotypical and dragged on and on. Yasmin's character was painful to read and was hard to relate to with her back and forth emotions and extensive but pointless monologues. Her character alone made me want to stop reading because I just found her annoying to say the least. This book was predictable; there were no surprises or twists in the plot either.I am left disappointed. This book definitely puts the SLOW in slow burn romance because the amount of times the characters were about to get “spicy” the MMC would LITERALLY just drop her? It’s just unrealistic and an annoyingly tethering tease. These characters had no real chemistry, no real love for one another, and they were just extremely unrelatable and unrealistic with how their story literally went from hatred to lovers OVERNIGHT. I didn’t DNF with hopes the story would pick up and get better but unfortunately it never did.YOU CAN SKIP THIS ON YOUR TBR.

I’m gonna have to give it a 3.5…
So jumping right into it; the plot for this book was pretty fast paced but was easy to follow. I was expecting the characters development to progress pretty quickly along with the plot because of the book being so short but not like them getting kinky with the first two chapters fast. Lmao. It was still an entertaining read despite it being so short and sweet. I also got most of the references relating to the Wizard of Oz but not all of them because it was just all over the place throughout the story but I’m not really a fan of the Wizard of Oz to even be able to hunt down all of the references anyway so it made sense for what it was.I also hated the back and forth between Eveline and Nick so much. One second they couldn’t stand each other and the next they were in each other’s pants and falling in love with no sense of time. It was quite annoying for me so their “chemistry” was just alright to me. However, I did like that Eveline was the morally grey character in this book rather than the MMC being the unhinged one throughout the book so that was a nice change of pace for me

A great standalone but a redundant series.
I haven’t read anything else by Rina Kent other than this Legacy of Gods series. I know they are all technically standalone books and are all their own complete story but as I continue to read each of them (in order of their release); I’ve come to feel as if all of the stories in these books are a bit repetitive. Yes all of the characters overlap in each book and yes all of the characters endure their own hardships and “storylines” but it seems like the grouchy, over protective, possessive, violent driven MMC is redundant in each book (just the names are different). The FMC are also all pretty similar too (except for Mia). All of these books follow the same laid out plot sequence too. The main characters hate each other at first, start having intercourse, both grow feelings but “can’t be together” for whatever reason so they fall apart, but then their “undying love” for one another brings them back and they live happily ever after with most of the plot of the story happening and unraveling within just the last few chapters of the book rather than throughout the entire book. That’s why I believe each of these books are great as standalone books to read, but at a series that’s “connected” but “not connected” they’re all pretty much copy paste.
