Hanna Moog is an internationally known author and co-author of books on the I Ching. She came to the I Ching thirty years ago during a midlife crisis, and has made it her most trusted companion ever since. She was for some years an editor, translator, and author of books on the I Ching for Eugen Diederichs Verlag, the German publishing company that first published the classic translation of the I Ching by Richard Wilhelm. In 1998, new doors to her understanding of the I Ching opened up, when she joined forces with Carol K. Anthony in the United States. By that time Carol K. Anthony was a well-established author of books on the subject. Their different cultural backgrounds offered the perfect opportunity for expanding their understanding of this ancient Chinese oracle system. Shortly after she arrived, a healing experience occurred to Hanna with the help of the I Ching. This blew away some of the traditional assumptions written into the I Ching over centuries by the Confucian school. The experience showed her and Carol that the I Ching was not about changes, as its traditional title implies (“Book of Changes”) but about transformations. This experience revealed a deeper layer of the oracle text than had been previously understood. It showed that the causes of what the I Ching refers to as “misfortune” lie in our use of language that is not in harmony with the Cosmos. They found that by removing the mistaken ideas or beliefs through a particular method of deprogramming, the misfortune can be brought to an end. With this approach, they also found that many health problems can be successfully resolved. Hanna Moog and Carol K. Anthony jointly give seminars on the practical applications of the I Ching for psychological and physical self-healing both in the United States and Germany.
