Jacqueline Garrick is the founder of Whistleblowers of America. She has been a social worker supporting the military/veterans and their families for more than 30 years. She has worked for the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Congress, The American Legion and was an Army officer. She has brought her expertise to the whistleblower community as well because she saw a similar need. Whistleblowers, like veterans, experience hostile environments, fight for what's right, and suffer the consequences causing depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicide. Garrick's previous books have focused on innovative trends in trauma treatment and self-help and chapters she has written have dealt with women veterans and wounded warriors. She has been a proponent of peer support as a means of building a holistic system for resilience. Ms. Garrick has her BSW and MSW from Temple University and was a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She has several awards from prestigious international organizations and the Secretary of Defense.
