Katana Malone

关于作者

Katana Malone is an actress, musician, model, filmmaker, producer, writer, and artist. Her passion for music began at the age of four with the help of a father who, when he was not stationed in another country, was a DJ for local clubs. She found herself engulfed in the world of music. This passion spread into the writing of Edgar Allen Poe and philosophies of Einstein and Tesla. Her passion for music and uncanny fascination with comic books, mangas, and the "unknown" created a desire to write poetry, short stories, songs, screenplays, essays, and any other means of expression that allowed her mind to flow freely. Her close relationship to her mother and sisters kept her grounded, yet the constant travel, brought her closer to the world of "make-believe" and escape. Film became that escape. After the birth of her daughter, Azariyah, in 2009, Katana decided to delve into acting, first working on the set of a local music video to background work in television series like Charlie's Angels and movies such as “Rock of Ages,” “Step Up Revolution”, “Pain & Gain,” and more. She went on to star in award winning web-series such as "To Each His Own" and "Divination,” and feature films, such as "Marcus" alongside names like Owen Miller and Paul "The Big Show" Wight. In 2021, the actress won Best Actress in the West Europe International Film Festival for her role as Gaby in “Marcus.” The former Vice President of Anpu Productions is now the President of Melanated Scribes Publishing LLC, which she started during the pandemic as a means to express herself through writing, designs, art, and more. Through her company, she intends to continue acting, writing, producing, and directing films that speak to the community. Katana is also the Vice President of The West Indian Actors Database, a company focused on showcasing and supporting West Indian actors worldwide. The artist has not only worked behind and in front of the camera, but has also spent over a decade in the classroom as a certified teacher in both Elementary and Business Education. She’s taught all elementary school core subjects, web development, coding, cybersecurity, and other computer and business based subjects. Her love of art is a constant factor within the classroom. After the birth of her son, Neo, and a traumatic experience at the end of 2023, Katana vowed to publish books for children as well as the cautionary tales she has experienced throughout her life. She continues to write and publish.
