I write about pop culture — diners, roadside attractions, amusement parks, Isaly's Dairy and its Klondike bar.
I also oversee books at the Heinz History Center ranging from Pittsburgh's Strip District to African Americans in the Vietnam era to a children's book on Pirates second baseman Bill Mazeroski.
I'm writing more books too on Kennywood Park, Bettis Airport, a Japanese American memoir of WWII, a 1928 Boy Scout cross-country trip, and ... my first fiction, a haunted history novel, The Quarry, where a new highway unleashes old ghosts.
