Margo Natalie Crawford is Professor of English at University of Pennsylvania. She is the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Professor for Faculty Excellence and the director of the Center for Africana Studies at University of Pennsylvania. What is African American Literature? (2020) is her most recent book. Crossing boundaries between African American literature, visual art, and cultural movements, her scholarship opens up new ways of understanding black radical imaginations. Crawford is the author of Black Post-Blackness: The Black Arts Movement and Twenty-First- Century Aesthetics (University of Illinois Press, 2017), Dilution Anxiety and the Black Phallus (Ohio State University Press, 2008), and the coeditor, with Lisa Gail Collins, of New Thoughts on the Black Arts Movement (Rutgers University Press, 2006). She has also co-edited Global Black Consciousness (NKA Journal, Duke University Press).
